A walkup song for youth baseball is a fun option for the boys. However, the boys may struggle in finding the best song to use. To help with that, here are our top 30 boy approved walkup songs. In addition, we’ve added our list of 30 songs for a “moms’ choice” game. If your team doesn’t already have someone designated to run the walkup songs, here’s what you need to know.
Software Needed
Find and download a walkup song application to run from your smartphone or tablet. Some of the applications offer a free trial, so you can find out which works best for you without having to pay. Some may also be free if you only want to play music and will come with a fee to announce the player’s name and number. Here are a couple options:
- BallparkDJ: With this application you can use as a free trial. This application even offers professional introductions for a fee of $3.99 per player. The unlimited version of this application is $6.99 & has over 10K 4.8-star reviews from the Apple App store.
- Walkout Song DJ: This application comes with a $5.99 fee. It has options to schedule between inning music as well. One downside to this application is it is only compatible with the Amazon Music application. It has over 7K 4.8-star reviews from the Apple App store.
Devices Needed
- Ensure you have a good Bluetooth speaker to synch with your phone that will be loud enough for the boys and fans to hear. We recommend setting the speaker close to home plate. Here are our picks for Bluetooth speakers you can find via Amazon:
- JBL Charge 5 Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker: This speaker is waterproof & has a battery that will allow for 20 hours of playtime. With over 22K 4.8-star reviews on Amazon, this speaker will get you through even long tournament days.
- Bose SoundLink Flex Bluetooth Portable Speaker: This speaker is also waterproof and has over 24K 4.8-star reviews on Amazon. The lithium-ion battery offers up to 12 hours per charge.
- Marshall Emberton II Portable Bluetooth Speaker: The Marshall speaker is waterproof and allows for up to 30 hours of playtime with a single charge. This speaker has over 1,000 4.7-star reviews on Amazon.
- One issue often faced when playing the walkup songs, is the devices run out of power. We highly recommend having a portable charger with you, in the event this happens. This way the music doesn’t stop halfway through the game. Here are a few options:
- Duracell Power Station: The Duracell M150 portable power station can charge one laptop and a phone for about 6 charges, which makes it a great option for charging several devices at one time! If that’s not enough power, the M250 charges up to 3 laptops and a phone for about 14 charges. To purchase this device, click here.
- INIU Portable Charger: This slim charger has a USB C in & out high-speed charging battery pack. It’s compatible with iPhone 11-15, Samsung S22 & S21 & the Google iPad. It has over 30K 4.6-star reviews on Amazon.
- Charmast Portable Charger: This charge comes with built in cables and has 3 Inputs. It’s compatible with Samsung, Google Pixel, LG Moto and the iPhone iPad. It has over 15K 4.5-star reviews on Amazon.
Once you have the device and software, you can provide the lists below to help the players determine which walkup song they may want. To help, we’ve broken the list up into 30 boy approved songs and 30 mom approved songs.
